My bike was secured near the escalators, adjacent to the service desk at Woolworths North Melbourne on 24/7/2022. At around 3.30pm I discovered that it was missing. It was placed specifically so I could watch over it, however I was distracted at the time. I was well within five meters of the bike as per the requirements, and the battery was removed (which I still have.) After the authorities were contacted, I was able to view the video of the bike being stolen. It was physically carried out by a male in his thirties, holding the back wheel off the ground with his arms and chest, while using the front wheel to roll it along - as the back wheel was locked. Taken was the bike and accessories, including the wheel lock (applied) and cable lock (in the bike basket) as well as helmet, vest, gloves and rain jacket.
